These terms cover bookings with MAV Motors, a mobile car diagnostics service based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

What you pay for

You pay for the package you choose: a diagnostic visit and a written report, plus any reset, coding or battery registration that package includes. Parts and repairs that need a garage are not included.

Emergency call-out

The emergency option costs £8. We are on call, not open 24 hours. After you book, we text you to confirm, then aim to arrive within 1 hour. If we cannot come, we refund you in full. Traffic, weather or road closures can cause delays.

Clearing codes and resetting lights

We only clear codes and reset lights after we have read and recorded them. If the fault is still there, the light can come back. That is the car telling you the truth, not a failure of the reset.

Changes and cancellations

To change or cancel a booked slot, contact us at least 2 hours before it for a full refund. Emergency bookings can be cancelled for a full refund until we set off.

Access to the car

Please make sure the car is somewhere safe and legal to work on, and that you have the keys. If we cannot reach or work on the car, we will try to rearrange.
